Simultaneously with the development of his academic career, he has been providing medical assistance for more than 10 years at the Neonatology Unit of HMIB. This place aroused the researcher’s passion for babies with congenital malformations and how their caregivers reconcile their factual and religious beliefs with their experiences in the pediatric environment and especially in neonatology.
Reconciling her professional career, the researcher also ventured into motherhood so that empathy left evidence-based science and was experienced in the difficulties that all women experience in the various daily journeys that transit between individuality, family and work.
Thus, they can develop their work activities with a greater existential meaning, using epistemological currents such as rationalism and empiricism to produce evidence of how religiosity and spirituality are experienced by patients, companions and professionals from the perspective of phenomenology, both in hospital care and in teaching.
Extremely concerned with integral health, the researcher converges qualitative and quantitative research, in the search to improve the care of her patients and students, both in the organic and also psycho-spiritual aspects.
