A scientific look at Health Spirituality Illness Grief Pain Loss Motherhood

Highlights

“When perinatal care is regionalized and hierarchical, as in the Unified Health System (SUS) in Brazil, it is possible to identify risk in prenatal care and adequately plan for high-risk births to occur in places where neonatal care is more appropriate for that baby; therefore, the safest transport for a newborn (NB) is in the womb.”
“In their daily clinical practice, healthcare professionals often come across patients and surrogates verbalizing their belief in miracles in cases of serious illness. Many of them consider the content of this belief in decision-making during the terminal phase of the disease. How has this topic been addressed in current research?”
“Congenital Fetal Malformity (CFM) is a stress factor for pregnant women, and religiosity and spirituality play an important role in coping with it. The objective of this study was to identify the correlation between stress, perceived by pregnant women with CFM, and the various forms of religious/spiritual coping (RCC). ”
